From 2005 Audi started manufacture of autos type A8, modification of 4.2 TDI quattro and finished it in 2007. This four-door sedan has a length of 5.1 meters, weight 1.9 tons and is destined to sit 5 passengers including the driver.

«A8 4.2 TDI quattro» auto with a 6-speed sequential automatic gearbox is connected to the full wheels. This vehicle can speed up for 5.9 seconds to 100 km/h, with a max speed of 250 km/h, thanks to a 8-cylinders diesel motor engine with a «common rail system», which generate a max output of 326 hp at 3750 rpm.

Fuel consumption is 13.3 l in the urban driving mode, on the track 7.2 l, and the normal fuel consumption is 9.4 l per 100 km. Gas tank capacity is 90 liters of diesel, what provides to go nearly 958 kilometers unrefuelled.

The front wheels of this model have ventilated disks brakes and fixed to the undercarriage through suspension «Multilink, pneumatic» and equipped with stabilizer bar. Back wheels have ventilated disks brakes and fixed to the undercarriage by dint of suspension «Multilink, pneumatic» and equipped with sway bar. Tires have the following measure - 235/55R17.

Audi A8 is not tested for Euro NCAP crash test. Furthermore to active safety features (ESP, Brake assistant, EBD, ABS, Traction control), it is also equipped with passive safety (side, passenger, driver, head/curtain airbags).
