Model of cars 1-series, modification 116i started producing by BMW from 2009 and terminated in 2011. This five-door hatchback has a length of 4.2 meters, weight 1.3 tons and is designed to fit 5 people including the driver.

«1-series 116i» automobile with a 6-speed sequential automatic transmission is fitted to the rear-wheels. This car can speed up for 11.2 s to 100 km/h, with a top speed of 202 km/h, thanks to a 4-cylinders petrol motor engine with a «direct injection system», which produce a max power of 122 hp at 6000 rpm.

Fuel consumption is 8.7 liters in the urban driving mode, on the suburban 5.4 liters, and the medium fuel rate is 6.6 l per 100 kilometers. Fuel tank volume is 53 l of petrol, what lets to drive about 804 km without refueling.

The front wheels of this model have ventilated disks, 284 mm brakes and attached to the underframe by dint of suspension «Double wishbone, independent, coil springs» and equipped anti-roll bar. Back wheels have disks, 280 mm brakes and fixed to the body chassis with help of suspension type «Multilink, coil springs» and equipped with anti-roll bar. Tires have the following dimensions - 195/55R16.

In conformity with the results of Euro NCAP crash test, this model of BMW 1-series gained the maximum quantity of stars - five, indicating that it is a highly safe vehicle. Furthermore to dynamic safety (ESP, EBD, Brake assistant, Traction control, ABS), it is also has passive systems of safety (head/curtain, side, driver, passenger airbags).
