In 2011 BMW started manufacture of cars model 5-series, modification of M5. This four-door sedan has a length of 4.9 meters, weight 1.8 tons and is assigned to fit 5 person total.

«5-series M5» have a rear-wheel drive vehicle with a 7-speed sequential automatic gearbox. This automobile can speed up for 4.4 seconds to 100 km/h, with a peak speed of 250 km/h, owing to a 8-cylinders petrol motor with a «direct injection system», which generate a peak output of 560 hp at 6000 rpm.

Fuel rate is 14 liters in the city mode of driving, on the track 7.6 l, and the normal fuel consumption is 9.9 liters per 100 kilometers. Gas tank volume is 80 l of petrol, what provides to go roughly 809 km unrefuelled.

The forward wheels of this model have ventilated disks, 400 mm brakes and attached to the chassis using suspension «Double wishbone, independent, coil springs» and equipped anti-roll bar. Rearward wheels have ventilated disks, 396 mm brakes and fixed to the undercarriage with help of suspension «Multilink, coil springs» and equipped stabilizer bar. Tires have the next dimensions - 265/40R19.

In accordance with the information of Euro NCAP crash test, this model of BMW 5-series got the maximal number of stars - five, which indicates that it is a highly safe auto. Furthermore to passive safety systems (passenger, driver, side, head/curtain airbags), it is also equipped with active safety features such as EBD, ESP, ABS, Traction control, Brake assistant.
