FERRARI F512 M · photos, packages and modifications

The 512 TR model was replaced by the F512 M model, which was introduced in the autumn of 1994 at the Paris Salon. When it was decided to use the F prefix representing Ferrari to the model number, this new model was born in the Ferrari range and with the 512 TR, it was referred to the 5 liter engine capacity and number of cylinders used in the model. The suffix M of the F512 M model was described the Modified, which was the symbol used on the 512 S sports racing cars of the early seventies by the Ferrari. Because of this reason, there was an analogy made with the history of the company when there was an upgrade to make over the 512 M models. When you consider about the F512M model, it was the one with most radical overhaul that was received with the Testarossa series during the production period. The model was also the one with the shortest lifespan and produced at the lowest numbers. The production period of this model was early 1996, when the 501 examples were produced in the chassis number range 99376 to 105516 and before that it gave way to the front engine successor the 550 Maranello model.

It was not only the model developed as the most high range of the series and also the one treated as the rarest. This car was the last model of the production car range in the mid-engine flat 12 cylinder engine. The production was started in the two and half decades earlier with the concept of the 365 GT4/BB by Pininfarina at the 1971 Turin Salon.
