KIA Optima · photos, packages and modifications

The Kia Optima has many similarities with the Hyundai i40, although in certain aspects, the Optima has a better look. This is due to the LED lights that are angled, as well as the single-frame grille and the rear end which has a design similar to the Jaguar. The dashboard layout has easy navigation. Furthermore, the centre console has precise and robust buttons, although it is not that much high in quality or flair as the Hyundai. This car comes in four different trim levels, named 1, 2 Luxe, 2 Tech, as well as the 3. The entry-level cars have a wide number of features which includes front and rear fog lights, tinted glass, alloy wheels measuring 16-inch, USB connectivity as well as Bluetooth capability.

There is only a single option for the engine although there is a choice between a six-speed manual gearbox or the 6-speed automatic gearbox. The engine runs on petrol, and the 1.7-liter is able to produce around 325 NM of torque and 134 bhp. The engine can achieve a high speed of 125 mph and can run 0.62 mph within 10.2 seconds. Eventually, a new engine was added, which included a 2.0-liter petrol version, as well as the hybrid version which delivered 187 bhp. While you will like the drive of the drive, but the drive is not as good as that of the Ford Mondeo. You will find the steering to be precise and accurate with a good grip, and a smooth gearshift.

This particular model has not been tested for safety standards by Euro NCAP although its cousin has achieved a five-star rating, including a 92 percent rating for adult occupants. However, this version has curtain and side airbags, along with driver, passenger airbags, as well as ASB and ESP airbags.

This model also has an excellent storage space, with a 505-litre boot. The i40 only has a boot capacity of 525 liters while the Skoka Superb hatchback has a capacity of 565 liters. The rear seats can be folded easily especially when there is a need for more space, but you will find that the bulkhead's opening is quite awkward. Furthermore, the boot does not have adequate height to carry bulkier items. However, it has a longer wheelbase than the Hyundai i40 which ensures better legroom at the back. Along with that, the visibility is quite excellent if the driver sits in a higher position.
