In 1996 Renault started production of autos type Safrane, modification RXE 2.5 and finished it in 2000. This vehicle has five doors, the body chassis is shaped like a hatchback, weight 1.5 tons and length 4.8 meters, that allows a seat 5 people in sum.

The front wheels of this auto have ventilated disks, 280 mm brakes and fixed to the undercarriage with help of suspension «MacPherson, independent, coil springs» and equipped anti-roll bar. Back wheels have disks, 265 mm brakes and fixed to the underframe through suspension «Multilink, coil springs» and equipped with sway bar. Tires have the next measure - 195/65VR15.

Renault Safrane is not examined for crash test Euro NCAP. Furthermore to passive safety features (side, driver, passenger airbags), it is also has dynamic safety systems such as ABS.
