Back wheels have disks, 278 mm brakes and fixed to the undercarriage by dint of suspension type «Multilink, coil springs» and equipped stabilizer bar. Tires have the following size - 205/50R17.

In accordance with the results of Euro NCAP crash test, this model of Volvo S40 received the maximal number of stars - 5, which means that it is a very safe auto. In addition to dynamic safety (ABS, EBD, ESP, Brake assistant, Traction control), it is also has passive safety systems (driver, passenger, side, head/curtain airbags).
