VOLVO S60 · D5 · Sedan · 2005 ‐ 2009

Volvo launched manufacture in 2005 of autos type S60, modification D5 and closed it in 2009. This vehicle has four doors, the body chassis is in the form a sedan, weight 1.5 tons and length 4.6 meters, which allows a seat 5 people in sum.

«S60 D5» have a front-wheel drive automobile with a 6-speed manual gearbox. This car can be accelerated for 8.2 seconds to 100 km/h, with a maximum speed of 230 km/h, owing to a 5-cylinders diesel motor with a «common rail system», which produce a maximum output of 185 hp at 4000 rpm.

Gas tank volume of this vehicle is 70 l of diesel, thus when intermediate fuel consumption is 6.6 liters per 100 km (5.2 l on the highway, 9 l in the urban), that allows to go nearly 1061 km unrefuelled.

The forward wheels of this automobile have ventilated disks, 286 mm brakes and fixed to the underframe with help of suspension «MacPherson, independent, coil springs» and equipped with anti-roll bar. Back wheels have disks, 288 mm brakes and fixed to the undercarriage through suspension «Multilink, coil springs» and equipped with sway bar. Tires have the following measure - 205/55R16.

In accordance with the results of Euro NCAP crash test, this model of Volvo S60 gained the many number of stars - four, which means that it is a reasonably safe vehicle. Furthermore to dynamic safety systems (Brake assistant, EBD, Traction control, ESP, ABS), it is also equipped with passive safety (side, head/curtain, passenger, driver airbags).
