In 2010 Volvo started manufacture of autos type V50, modification D2 R-Design and finished it in 2011. This five-door wagon has a length of 4.5 meters, weight 1.3 tons and is assigned to fit 5 person including the driver.

«V50 D2 R-Design» is a front wheel drive car with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 4-cylinders diesel engine with «common rail system» can produce power 115 horsepower at 3600 rmp, which allows you to speed up the auto for 11.5 seconds to 100 km/h and reach maximum speed of 195 km/h.

Fuel rate is 5.2 liters in the city mode of driving, on the suburban 3.8 liters, and the intermediate fuel rate is 4.3 l per 100 kilometers. Fuel tank volume is 52 liters of diesel, what provides to go roughly 1210 km unrefuelled.

The front wheels of this vehicle have ventilated disks, 300 mm brakes and attached to the underframe by dint of suspension «MacPherson, independent, coil springs» and equipped stabilizer bar. Back wheels have disks, 278 mm brakes and fixed to the undercarriage with help of suspension type «Multilink, coil springs» and equipped stabilizer bar. Tires have the next dimensions - 205/50R17.

In conformity with the results of Euro NCAP crash test, this model of Volvo V50 got the maximal number of stars - five, which means that it is a perfect safe auto. Furthermore to active systems of safety (ABS, ESP, EBD, Brake assistant, Traction control), it is also equipped with passive safety systems (passenger, side, driver, head/curtain airbags).
