Manual versions of the car are powered with a 6.2 Liter 426 bhp LS3 V8 from the Corvette, while the automatic versions of the car have a less strong L99 engine. The L99 engine has a smart Active Fuel system inbuilt in it. The function of this is to shut down half of the cylinders of the car to save the fuel. Both the transmissions feel very quick and fast in the straight line drive, but the manual stick shift makes it a bit tiring to drive. The automatic version is a much easier proposition. The Camaro is a very heavy car, and the weight of the car can be felt during turning. But the car has a lot of grip in the tires. The steering has good weight but lacks the feel.
