The Sedan came with the same range of engines as the Caravan with a displacement range of 1897cc to 2260cc. This 3 compartment sedan was made available with trim choices of Deluxe, Sports, a blend of both and Sport Deluxe. Coupled with manual 4 speed transmissions, the power output ranged from 65 hp to 110 pk.

By the launching of the face lifted version of 1982 Opel adding a new range of engines to enhance the experience of driving had redesigned the car. With basic shape staying constant the new version was curvier with rear and front bumper restyled, more rounded edges and new headlights drawn away from the aesthetically boring rectangular cuts. The same power unit changes as the caravan were also seen in the sedan with the introducing of gasoline 1.8 liter replacing the 1.9 liter and a 2.3 turbocharged diesel. Transmissions were also upgraded and all 4 speed were converted to five speed engines and excluding the diesels all other were made available with a choice of automatic 3 speed transmission.
