In 2001 Volkswagen launched production of autos model Golf Variant, modification of 2.0 Sportline and closed it in 2002. This five-door wagon has a length of 4.4 meters, weight 1.3 tons and is designed to fit 5 person including the driver.

«Golf Variant 2.0 Sportline» car with a 4-speed automatic transmission is connected to the front wheels. The front wheels of this model have ventilated disks, 280 mm brakes and fixed to the undercarriage using suspension «MacPherson, independent, coil springs» and equipped stabilizer bar. Rear wheels have disks, 232 mm brakes and fixed to the chassis with help of suspension «Semi-independent, coil springs» and equipped sway bar. Tires have the next dimensions - 195/65VR15.

According to the results of Euro NCAP crash test, this model of Volkswagen Golf Variant gained the many quantity of stars - four, which means that it is a well safe vehicle. In addition to passive safety features (driver, passenger, side airbags), it is also equipped with active safety features such as ABS, EBD.
