From 1999 Mercedes-Benz launched manufacture of cars model CL-klasse, modification of CL 600 and finished it in 2002. This vehicle has two doors, the body chassis is in the form a coupe, weight 1.9 tons and length 5 meters, which allows a seat 4 person in sum.

«CL-klasse CL 600» is a rear wheel drive car with a 5-speed automatic gearbox. The 12-cylinders petrol engine with «multipoint injection system» can produce power 367 horsepower at 5500 rmp, which allows you to speed up the car in 6.1 seconds to 100 km/h and reach ceiling speed of 250 km/h.

Fuel rate is 19.9 liters in the city mode of driving, on the highway 9.5 liters, and the intermediate fuel rate is 13.4 l per 100 kilometers. Gas tank volume is 88 l of petrol, what lets to drive nearly 657 km unrefueled.

The front wheels of this model have ventilated disks, 345 mm brakes and attached to the underframe by dint of suspension «Double wishbone, independent, pneumatic» and equipped with anti-roll bar. Rearward wheels have ventilated disks, 315 mm brakes and fixed to the underframe using suspension type «Multilink, pneumatic» and equipped with stabilizer bar. Tires have the following measure - 225/55R17.

Mercedes-Benz CL-klasse is not tested for crash test Euro NCAP. Furthermore to passive safety systems (head/curtain, driver, passenger, side airbags), it is also equipped with active systems of safety such as EBD, Traction control, ABS, ESP, Brake assistant.
